Today we interviewed Vtuber Caldonia all about their journey.
1.What inspired you to become a Vtuber?
Vtubing is a combination of all my very favorite things (anime, videogames, creativity, technology, community building) it became my instant dream because of this!
2. Tell us about your model!
I think outer space is inspiring— it can inspire us to put away petty differences or work together towards something greater when we learn how teeny tiny our planet is compared to it all.
I’ve also included small nods in my design and lore as a symbols of awareness to disability & mental health. I captain my small (pill shaped) space capsule with matching charms and motif on my clothing. I based my appearance most entirely on my real life self, incorporating this lore because it is something I’ve struggled with myself and want others similar to me to feel visible or less alone. I really wanted to have a positive aesthetic, one that was uplifting to others in all it’s layers.
3.What is the best part about being a Vtuber?
Everything. No really. Nothing has brought this much condensed joy and fun. Making virtual funnies with my community and the vtubing community as a whole. Spending time and chatting with others. LARPing as a degenerate anime girl. Eve-ry-thing.
4. What would you tell someone who wants to become a Vtuber? Any advice?
Listen to yourself and try not to take others words too closely. Do your best to judge for yourself YOUR best path. The community will be here for you when you’re ready and along the way! There is no one right way to do it and isn’t as new of a thing as many people seem to think, it’s here to stay.
5. Goals for this year?
I just debuted about a month ago but already have many goals! I would like to begin my vsinger ‘voice training arch’ to gain control of my voice and sing beautifully for all of you. I would like to grow my community so that we can do charity streams to help others. I would like to make many friendships within the community. I would like to continue to play fun games and making fun content with you all! And many more!!
