Roppongi Museum Hosts the Tamagotchi 30th Anniversary Exhibition (Tokyo 2026): What to Expect

OH WOW, Tamagotchi fans this is one of those “wait, that’s real?!” moments. The 30th Anniversary Tamagotchi Exhibition is happening in Tokyo, and it’s a huge love letter to all things Tamagotchi! Check out the anniversary video shared by Tamapalace!

What it is

Tamagotchi is turning 30, and Tokyo’s getting a full anniversary exhibit for it. The 30th Anniversary Tamagotchi Exhibition is landing at Roppongi Museum and it’s built to make you feel like you’ve stepped into the Tamagotchi world!

  • January 7 – February 2, 2026 (Tokyo / Roppongi Museum)

Merch

There will be event-only items, including a limited-edition Original Tamagotchi made with creative director Mitsuhiro Higuchi, plus other 30th anniversary goods. There will also be a cafe themed after Tamagotchi!

If you can’t make Tokyo

The exhibit is also set to tour Japan later in 2026, with stops planned for Nagoya, Mito, and Osaka.

Getting there

Roppongi Museum is about 7 minutes on foot from Roppongi Station, or around 10 minutes from Azabu-Juban Station.
