We had the pleasure of interviewing Polarity Audio Works to talk about the real side of being an audio professional, what it’s like working in the industry, what beginners should focus on, and the challenges in the field. Be sure to check out their website HERE!
Tell us about what it is like being an audio professional
Being an audio professional has its ups and downs. It’s a feast or famine job so when times are good it’s a blast. When it’s famine it can be pretty stressful.
What advice would you give folks who want to do what you do?
Don’t worry about getting fancy plugins right away. Learn the foundation on how sound waves interact with each other. Once you get a grasp of that the sky’s the limit with your creativity
What are some challenges in your career?
Getting seen to find new clients. I don’t live in a hub city and audio is treated as an afterthought most times that people don’t even budget for it.
What has been your greatest success story?
When I got to do an audio log for Valorant via Riot games. It fused my love for games with audio drama which was neat
What are your personal goals for your work in 2026?
Honestly my only goal is to just survive another year as a business. But working on an animation would be awesome
Where can folks support you?
I don’t have a ko fi or anything like that. But if anyone wants to hire me get in touch via my website I also started making YouTube videos again so you can look me up there via Polarity Audio Works too.
