Inside HELLBOUND INC: Developer Interview on Rage Gameplay and Corporate Hell

We had the pleasure of chatting with the developer of HELLBOUND INC! “HELLBOUND INC is a rage-inducing platformer where you jump & carry packages to deliver against time, demons and HR. Play as an undead courier trapped in a fulfillment center recently purchased by Satan himself.”

1. What inspired your game?

We were inspired by precision platformers like Jump King, Mooncat from UFO 50, Celeste, and chaotic co-op pain like Bread & Fred.

We love frustration platformers, games that are punishing but fair. The kind where failure teaches you something. We wanted to take that brutal precision gameplay and wrap it in a corporate-hell theme that feels darkly funny and painfully relatable.

2. What are your goals for your game?

We’re aiming to create a game players love to hate. We want Hellbound Inc to deliver tight, satisfying, skill-based gameplay and build a community around shared suffering (the fun kind). Long term, we’d love to see streamers challenging each other and turning it into a skill flex.

We’re initially launching on PC, but we’d love to bring Hellbound Inc to consoles like the Nintendo Switch and Xbox in the future.

3. How would you pitch your game in 3–5 words?

Brutal. Precise. Corporate Hell.

4. What advice would you give to new devs?

Start small. Finish something. Scope is everything. It’s better to release a tight, polished 2-hour experience than a half-finished “dream game.”

Also: Playtest early, listen to feedback, but filter it. Marketing isn’t optional, start talking about your game before it’s finished. And most importantly: don’t wait for perfect conditions. Just build.

5. What has been your biggest success story relating to your game?

Winning Best Game in Development at Pixelatl was a big milestone for us. It gave us validation early on that Hellbound Inc resonated beyond our immediate circle and that the concept had real potential.

On top of that, seeing players genuinely rage, but immediately hit “retry”, has been incredibly rewarding. When someone says, “I hate this game… okay one more try,” we know we’ve done our job.

Being featured during Steam Next Fest and watching players organically share their fails and near-misses has also been a big moment for our small team.

6. Where can folks support your game?

You can support Hellbound Inc by:

Playing the demo & wishlisting on Steam, Every wishlist genuinely helps indie teams like ours more than people realize.
