Cosplay Feature: BOHO

Hello and welcome to Andrew’s Cosplay Feature. This post will feature the cosplayer BOHO

1. Where are you from and what is the cosplay/geek culture like in your area?
I’m from the southern part of Spain in a city called Seville where the geek culture is remarkable.
Lots of people grew up with anime series on the TV when they were little and shows like One Piece,
Naruto, Inuyasha, Captain Tsubasa, Sailor Moon, Sakura Cardcaptor and especially Dragon Ball were frequently televised in children’s schedules. This has caused a big fan community along
with video games and movies in my area, they were very appreciated in everyone’s childhood.
Cosplay is still a very new thing in my opinion, although there are so many conventions to go to,
people only can perceive it as a hobby to enjoy with your friends, but not a job unlike other
countries. Only a few can really take advantage of all the potential cosplay has in some way. But
I’m happy to see that some teenagers are starting to normalize cosplay and otaku culture as
well. In the past it was an even more strange and marginalized thing, nowadays it is a totally
business investment for the companies

2. How long have you been cosplaying?
My first cosplay was Enju Aihara from Black Bullet in 2016. I started at the young age of 15 when
I discovered I found a strong passion for makeup and creativity combined with my geek side.

From there until today it’s been 5 years of amazing memories with friends and a long way of
working in cosplay.

Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop

3. What was the most difficult cosplay?
My most difficult cosplay was Jessie from Team Rocket. The wig was a complete challenge for
me. At first it looked simple to comprehend all the hair design yet in the practice it turned into a
terrible nightmare. I spent 2 weeks and 3 wigs to finish all the stylization process. However I can
say I’m so proud of the result and I’m planning to even improve all the cosplay look in the near
future!

4. What was your most recent cosplay?
My most recent cosplay is Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop. This series has been my favorite
since I was little. I’m so happy with how it turned out and I can’t wait to bring it to a convention!
I’m super excited for the Netflix live-action. I hope it’s good.

5. What is your most favorite anime?

Fullmetal Alchemist. I knew it was my favorite when I saw its amazing story and how amazing
those two brothers are. I always recommend people who are starting in the anime world to give
it a try, you won’t regret.

Winry Rockbell from Fullmetal Alchemist.
