We had the pleasrue of chatting with the creators of Allakin! Be sure to check out their kickstarter to help their game!
1. What inspires your work?
I’ve had the inspiration for game development for quite a long time, so I started studying game development in 2015 and successfully completed it. Since I also like to play computer games myself and wanted to know how everything works, I decided to turn my hobby into a job. Above all, It’s great that my two kids (5y & 3y) find it’s great themselves and they like to watch me working or help me with their great ideas and we even build levels with Duplo 🙂
2. Tell us about your game? What can fans expect?
Allakin takes the player on a journey through different worlds in a beautiful and varied adventure platformer inspired by Captain Toad and similar games. Out of curiosity and a thirst for adventure, Allakin accidentally opened a portal which unfortunately doesn’t bring him back to his world and he has to find another way. However, there is a dark force that wants to steal his magic book to get into his world. Allakin will learn various new spells over time and there are of course lots of secrets to be discovered in over 100 levels with many enemies and dangers.
3. What are your goals for 2023?
My goals are to finish the new game Allakin first. After that I would like to implement my next script which is already finished and create an interesting horror game 😉
4. What advice would you give to someone who wants to do what you do?
I always find it difficult to give advice… But you should have fun and have goals in your projects and then the rest will take care of itself.
5. Where and how can people support your work?
Since we still need great background music for Allakin, we would like to collect a little money through Kickstarter to realize this and of course to be able to enlarge the game a lot. That’s why we would of course be very happy about any support.
