My Adventures With Superman: A New Animated Show Coming to HBO Max and Cartoon Network

On May 19th, 2021 DC announced a couple coming projects, one of those being the topic of this article: My Adventures With Superman. This show will be on Cartoon Network and the streaming service of HBO Max. This series will follow a twenty-something Lois Lane (voiced by Alice Lee) and Clark Kent (voiced by Jack Quaid) trying to figure out Metropolis and starting their new jobs at the Daily Planet where they meet Jimmy Olsen. Also Clark has to learn how to live as Superman and as Clark Kent. Not only did it just get announced, but it will already have a season two! However, there is no confirmed release date.

From the sound of this short summary, this will not be a Superman that already knows how to balance the life of Superman and the life of Clark Kent. However, he will learn over time and figure out how to be a hero, a journalist, and what it is like to live in Metropolis. One thing I like is that Clark and Lois already know each other. Them being twenty-somethings and them moving to the city of Metropolis makes me think that they probably met in college, which is something I never thought about. Also, according to Sam Register (President of Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios), “This is the first animated Superman series in may years and we want to tell our Superman story through the trio of Clark, Lois, and Jimmy – whose relationship dynamic will allow for rich, serialized, as we explore their lives as individuals and their journey as friends.”

This is something I personally cannot wait to see. The art style definitely anime-inspired, much like how She-Ra and the Princess of Power and Voltron: Legendary Defender was. Never watched those shows, but I will watch this one. Just for the art style alone, I feel like this will be a nice charming show!
