Geek Talk: The Most Memorable RWBY Characters: A Personal Ranking

Hey there, it’s Ryder, and today we’re going to be talking about one of my all-time favorite shows: RWBY. If you’re a fan of anime, manga, gaming, or any kind of geek culture, then RWBY from Rooster Teeth is the show for you. It’s got everything from intense action sequences and stunning animation to complex characters and an immersive world.

But first check out All Ages of Geek’s Patreon for RWBY Reactions and for thousands of hours of content.

What I love most about RWBY is the way it blends together different genres and styles to create something truly unique. It’s part anime, part video game, part action movie, and part fantasy epic. But despite all these different influences, RWBY has a style and tone that’s all its own. It’s a show that’s both familiar and fresh, and it’s always pushing the boundaries of what we expect from animated storytelling.

RWBY

But what really makes RWBY stand out are the characters. You end up caring about them like friends. From the titular team RWBY to the various villains, allies, and side characters, everyone in RWBY feels like a fully realized and fleshed-out character. They all have their own personalities, backstories, motivations, and struggles, and they all feel like they are part of our own reality.

As a fan of the series, I thought it would be fun to rank the most memorable RWBY characters, from worst to best. Before we dive into the list, it’s important to note that this is my personal opinion and may differ from yours. With that said, let’s get started, and let us know your favorite RWBY Character Ranking List too!

Let’s just skip over Adam Taurus completely, because he’s an ass.

Cinder Fall

Kicking off our list is Cinder Fall, a mysterious and deadly villain with a thirst for power. While she has some impressive combat skills and a compelling backstory, she’s ultimately let down by her lack of character development and predictable motivations. Compared to other villains in the series, such as Salem and Tyrian, Cinder falls flat and feels like a missed opportunity.

Sun Wukong

Next up is Sun Wukong, a charismatic and energetic member of team SSSN. While he’s certainly entertaining to watch and has some great moments, he’s ultimately let down by his lack of depth and development. Compared to other characters in the series, such as Blake and Yang, Sun feels like a side character rather than a fully realized member of the main cast.

Jaune Arc

Coming in at number eight is Jaune Arc, a lovable and somewhat bumbling member of team JNPR. While he’s certainly grown and developed over the course of the series, he’s still let down by his lack of combat skills and somewhat predictable character arc. That being said, Jaune is a relatable and endearing character who brings a unique perspective to the series.

Qrow Branwen

Next up is Qrow Branwen, a charming and rough-around-the-edges member of team STRQ. While he’s certainly an entertaining character to watch, he’s let down by his reliance on alcohol and his somewhat predictable character arc. That being said, Qrow has some great moments and brings a unique perspective to the series.

Pyrrha Nikos

Coming in at number six is Pyrrha Nikos, a talented and kind-hearted member of team JNPR. While she has some great moments and a compelling backstory, she’s ultimately let down by her fate and lack of development. Pyrrha should have had at least one more arc before that tragic scene took place. Pyrrha is a character who could have been so much more, and her loss is still felt by fans of the series.

Raven Branwen

Coming in at number 15 is Raven Branwen, the mother of Yang Xiao Long and former member of team STRQ. While she’s certainly a complex and interesting character, she’s let down by her selfish motivations and lack of empathy. Good set up for a villain or neutral-based character, but there’s just a lack in her character overall. That being said, Raven’s relationship with Yang and her impact on the story make her a memorable and important character in the series.

Ruby Rose

Coming in at number four is Ruby Rose, the energetic and optimistic leader of team RWBY. While she’s certainly a beloved character, she’s let down by her somewhat simplistic motivations. Ruby is a character who could be so much more, and her growth and development are eagerly awaited by fans.

Weiss Schnee

Weiss Schnee Next up is Weiss Schnee, the talented and driven member of team RWBY. While she starts off as a somewhat abrasive character, she’s grown and developed over the course of the series into a complex and relatable character. Weiss is a character who brings a unique perspective to the series, and her growth and development are a joy to watch.

Blake Belladonna

Coming in at number two is Blake Belladonna, the quiet and introspective member of team RWBY. While she starts off as a somewhat aloof character, she’s grown and developed over the course of the series into a complex and compelling character. Blake’s struggles with her past and her place in the world are a central theme of the series, helping viewers overcome their own trauma.

Yang Xiao Long

Yang Xiao Long And finally, coming in at number one is Yang Xiao Long, the fiery and confident member of team RWBY. While she’s certainly a badass character, she’s also a deeply complex and relatable one. Yang’s struggles with her own identity, her struggles with PTSD and her relationship with her mother and friends are some of the most emotionally impactful moments of RWBY.

And there you have it, folks! My personal ranking of the most memorable RWBY characters, from worst to best. While this is just my personal opinion, I hope it gives you a better appreciation for the characters and the series as a whole. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend giving RWBY a watch – it’s a series that’s definitely worth your time!
