Triple Tap Games Interview with All Ages of Geek

We Interviewed Triple Tap Games!

We had the pleasure of chatting with Triple Tap Games to discuss their remarkable journey as a solo game developer. In this interview, we delve into their upcoming game, “The Unknown,” and explore the fascinating world of game development from a one-person perspective.

1. Tell us about your game. What is it like being a solo dev?

I started coding at a young age. I’ve made plenty of small games but nothing I ever felt confident in releasing. It took me 5 long years to create The Unknown, and build the confidence to make a Steam page. The Unknown is a psychological horror first-person platformer. It is finally set to release March 2024. What is it like being a solo dev? Being a solo dev means you are obviously playing a ton of roles. I am not only a solo dev, I’m a husband, father of 3 kids and I work full time in the Canadian Armed Forces. Thankfully, my wife helped me to get started on social media because I had no idea what I was doing. It’s not easy at times, but I make the time to create because it’s my passion.

2. Biggest success story as a game developer?

So, success is different for everyone. When I was starting with The Unknown, I wasn’t sure which direction I wanted to go. I just knew I wanted to create a first-person platformer. I submitted a (admittedly terrible) version of what I created to a game jam. I was surprised when it did well and it pushed me to finish it. I always said that if just one person plays my game and enjoys it, that’s enough to call it a personal success.

3. Advice you would give to someone who wants to do what you do?

Don’t give up and keep working at it. Make the time to do what you love doing. Don’t take advice/criticism personally.

4. Goals for 2024?

The Unknown is releasing March 2024. Later in the year, I will start working on a new game. I can’t wait to share more about that!

5. Tell us about your psychological horror game

Step into the mind of Mike and explore the depths of a twisted reality in this heart-pounding psychological horror first-person platformer. Dodge deadly obstacles at every turn and unravel the truth hidden deep within Mike’s psych as you navigate his tormented memories. But beware; she is watching your every move. Solve puzzles as you work your way back to reality. Can you solve the puzzles and escape this nightmarish world before it’s too late?

6. Where can folks support your work?

You can support me by playing the demo on Steam and adding The Unknown to your wishlist!… Follow me on my socials
