We had the pleasure of chatting with the developer of Video Game Fables!
1. Tell us about your games?
Video Game Fables is a lighthearted RPG set in an ancient, abandoned RPG game world that hasn’t had a player in decades. It’s funny, cute, challenging, and always throws something unexpected your way.
It’s available now on Steam, and there’s a free demo that lets you play from the beginning all the way through the first dungeon. You can even carry over your save data to the full game
2. What advice would you give to someone who wants to do what you do?
Start making something. Pick something extremely small and make a complete game from start to finish. You can take all the courses and watch all the videos you want, but until you actually dig in and work on something it won’t really click with you
3. What are your goals for 2023?
Getting Video Game Fables on Switch is a big goal, and possibly on other consoles as well. I’d love to have stable income just from Video Game Fables sales, but that’s usually a pipe dream for indie game devs to be honest.
4. Biggest success?
Definitely just having people talking about Video Game Fables, reviewing it, streaming it, making fan art for it, and a 10 / 10 review.
5. Where can people support your work?
The best thing to do right now is to buy Video Game Fables on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1577690/Video_Game_Fables/… I’m pretty active on Twitter, so following me there is helpful: https://twitter.com/MomijiStudios One of the most helpful things is to share the game and talk about it. Word of mouth is so important and such an underestimated tool for a small indie game dev like me. Tell your friends, talk about it on social media, and tell your favorite content creators they should play the game.
