Tony Weaver, Jr. is an award winning writer and educator creating diverse stories that make young people feel seen and valued. After seeing the impact that media stereotypes had on students in his community, Tony embarked on a journey to create new media narratives that would challenge the status quo.
Tony Weaver’s Weird Enough Productions is an ed tech company focused on combating media misrepresentation through original content production and media literacy education. Media misrepresentation has been linked to blacks receiving harsher jail sentences, less attention from doctors and a higher likelihood of being shot by police. With 13 original short films and a web comic in development to tackle topics like fake news, Weird Enough Productions impacts some 3,200 students.
