Beam Me Up, Scotty: Kid Cudi Partners with Star Trek for “Boldly Be” Campaign

Prolific producer of dopeness, Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, lit up Trekkie spirits during a surprise appearance at Star Trek’s New York Comic Con panel. Cudi popped in to discuss his new collaboration with the quintessential sci-fi franchise, titled the “Boldly Be” campaign.

“Boldly Be” takes its inspiration from “Star Trek’s” ethos of “IDIC” (Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations), the basis of Vulcan philosophy: “vast variables create truth, beauty, and strength.”

The panel was moderated by Josh Horowitz, correspondent for MTV News and host of the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, and centered a chat with Star Trek Executive Producer, Alex Kurtzman, who also debuted first look footage of the Kid Cudi x Star Trek universe collab.

During Cudi’s surprise Q&A on the panel, he announced a new bop,  “Heaven’s Galaxy,” produced by longtime collaborator Dot Da Genius, and an immersive Fortnite gaming experience. The panel closed on a screening of an all-new episode from the current season of hit Paramount+ original animated comedy series, “Star Trek: Lower Decks.”

Kid Cudi also made an appearance on the Javits convention floor at the “Boldly Be” merchandise booth, showing off some immensely fresh fits for purchase, my personal favorite being the punchy “Beam me up, Scotty” tee.
