What is OrmusJP?
At its heart, OrmusJP is an immersive language-learning RPG designed to make learning English a journey of discovery. Inspired by early civilizations, especially the Sumerians and the Anunnaki, a celestial race said to have influenced humanity’s beginnings, the game invites players to explore ancient ruins, solve symbolic puzzles, and uncover the hidden stories of a world long lost to time.
Each challenge teaches players new English vocabulary and grammar through context, making language acquisition a natural part of the adventure. The game’s narrative and mechanics work hand-in-hand, helping players grow their skills while unraveling secrets of a civilization buried by myth and memory.

Enki’s Awakening: A Story of Loss and Legacy – OrmusJP Tokyo Game Show 2025
The story begins with a dramatic sequence, Enki, the game’s central character, falls from the heavens in a burst of light, landing in a world submerged by a great flood. As he explores the ruins, sorrow turns to determination when he realizes the truth: this was once a thriving civilization guided by the Anunnaki, now destroyed by celestial events.
Through the guidance of Enlil, a powerful being from the stars, Enki must decode ancient texts, restore lost knowledge, and uncover the purpose behind his fall. Players walk alongside him, learning not only language but lessons of compassion, curiosity, and connection.
Learning Through Play – OrmusJP Tokyo Game Show 2025
One great element we learned from OrmusJP is how it transforms education into exploration. The team shared how they developed an adaptive platform that works for students aged 8 to 17, using layered accessibility tools like screen readers, Braille support, and audio guides.
Players progress at their own pace thanks to adaptive difficulty levels, while educators gain control through a teacher dashboard that tracks progress, customizes lessons, and tailors experiences to match classroom goals.
Each session is designed to balance engagement and learning, blending adventure with interactive education for a new generation of students.
The Vision of OrmusJP
The vision behind OrmusJP is clear: to create an emotionally rich, story-driven game that makes learning feel meaningful. By merging history, myth, and empathy, the team hopes to inspire players not just to learn English, but to explore humanity’s shared past and discover their own inner hero along the way.
