A creepy humanoid creature with decayed skin and glowing white eyes is holding a microphone. Behind it is a promotional image for a show or game titled "NOWHERE," featuring a man standing in front of a landscape with burning structures. The All Ages of Geek logo is present in the bottom right corner. The background suggests a forested area, creating an eerie atmosphere.

We Interviewed the Creator of ‘Nowhere’!

We had the pleasure of chatting with the mind behind the indie game Nowhere! Be sure to wishlist the game! You can also learn more about it HERE!

Tell us about Nowhere

Nowhere is a Nordic inspired narrative mystery/horror game, revolving around Nordic mythology and what happened to these Gods after Ragnarök and how the rise of Christianity impacted them and their worship. Nowhere features the mixing styles of detective gameplay and survival horror, It’s going to appeal to people who love a good mystery and also love to be scared, wandering through these haunting atmospheres, feeling something watching them at every turn while the tension builds and builds until the world turns into a nightmare and its fight or flight.

What inspired your project?

I’m really passionate about it all really, but two points stick out the most to me. The first being the story, the game revolving around Nordic mythology and what happened to these Gods after Ragnarök and how the rise of Christianity impacted them and their worship. The second being the blend of detective gameplay and survival horror, It’s going to appeal to people who love a good mystery and also love such games as SIlent Hill, Resident Evil and Outlast.

What advice would you give to new indie devs?

The best advice I can really give is don’t give up! Follow your dreams but make sure you have some security to do it even if that means getting a job to pay the bills and working on your dream game in your spare time for now.

Biggest success story so far

I would say the biggest success for me and Midnight Forge would be working on great games like Dark Fracture and Pneumata, both are amazing horror games too and I look forward to people getting to play them.

Goals for the game?

The goal is for Nowhere to be the flagship title of Midnight Forge, the first of many narrative horror games so I can tell stories, scare people and have fun for years to come!

Thoughts on our platform All Ages of Geek. How can we make it a better place to support indie creators?

As-well as having the website, having social platforms you can use to showcase and promote indie creators is always a great thing in the community as it helps gamers see what the smaller teams are working on.

How did you come up with the character designs?

For the monster designs its was a mixed bag between my love of all kinds of horror creatures and norse mythology. The monsters are very similar to the Draugr of Norse Mythology, spirits of the restless dead, except with new terrifying details. They appear like normal humans from a distance, beckoning you closer, off the paths to safety, they make you lost, drive you mad and kill you!

If you lived in the world of Nowhere what would your game plan be for survival?

If I lived in the world of Nowhere, I would definetly be hiding! Also trying to learn as much as I can about the monsters to increase my chances of survival and find a way to escape.

What are you working on now?

This week im working on some of the Survival Horror aspects of the game like hiding and combat, as-well as getting the demo tuned up so its nearly ready for the public.

Where can folks support your work?

To best support me and my work right now you can follow me on Twitter also please wishlist and share it with your friends as the more I have the better it will be for Midnight Forge in the long run.

Be sure to wishlist the game!
