Today was an exciting day for Pokémon fans all around the world. It’s been a while since we’ve last had any news about anything but the new Pokémon Snap game. More was revealed about it, namely that it takes place in the Lental region.
As a funny sidenote, when I was watching, I was just like “Lentil region? As in beans???” I wasn’t the only one, of course.
However, the biggest news of the day are the two new games coming.
Sinnoh is finally getting its long-awaited remakes in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. It’s slated for a late 2021 release.
The games will feature two distinct art styles: the overworld which aims to faithfully recreate the original, while the in-battle will feature more comprehensive 3D modeling.
However, we aren’t just getting one Sinnoh game, but two. Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a new game coming for the Switch. It delves into the era before Leagues, gyms, and even the concept of being a trainer existed. The main feature of the game is that it’s open world, something we’ve been begging for for years at this point.
The player will still get to choose a starter as they embark on the journey of creating the Sinnoh region’s first Pokedex. However, they’re foreign Pokemon: Cyndaquil, Rowlet, and Oshawott.
This new take on the series looks like it’ll be a good time. I really can’t wait for it. 2022 can’t get here fast enough!
