We Interviewed Vtuber Slimantha

We had the pleasure of talking to Slimantha all about their journey as a Vtuber!

1. What inspired you to become a Vtuber?

I was very heavily inspired by Korone from Hololive!! I love her streams even if I can’t understand them. I hope to be able to make people happy the way that she does.

2. Tell us about your model!

My current model is my second one! I love her very very much. I did the art for her myself, including all of the cutting, which was pretty hard to learn! The rigging artist i worked with is

@ararjey_aquino on twitter. She’s based off of a giant african land snail!

3.What is the best part about being a Vtuber?

The absolute best part, without a doubt, is the amazing supportive community. Everyone really tries their best to appreciate each other and make one another feel welcome. I felt extremely welcome when I first decided to become a Vtuber.

4. What would you tell someone who wants to become a Vtuber? Any advice?

My advice is mainly for artists; It’s absolutely worth learning to draw and cut your own model!! It’s a great skill to have in this community and it’s a great way to save money on this expensive hobby as well. Also, don’t do things backwards like I did! My initial debut was on twitch before I had even made a twitter account. I only had about 4 views and they were all friends that I had personally asked to watch hehe

5. Goals for this year?

My vtubing goals are mostly based on self improvement; I’d like to be more engaging for the audience. That’s something that I think is going to take a lot of practice for me. After the pandemic, my once-acceptable social skills kinda took a hit from quarantine and I’m still learning to handle interactions again. I’m going to do my best, though!

6. Where can people support you?

People can support me here on twitter at @slimyslimantha as well as on twitch at http://twitch.tv/slimantha ! Even just a follow or an occasional ‘like’ is super appreciated!
