We Interviewed @jamie_edlund

We had the pleasure of interviewing @jamie_edlund all about their work.

1. What inspires your work?

It’s hard to say what “inspires my work” because I’ve never really thought too much about it. But I’ll try! To make works that will touch someone’s heart in some ways that they haven’t felt before, to make someone smiles? Or just a prayer of happiness for the characters I portrayed? I guess finding a connection through people inspires me the most- if that make sense.

2. What would you tell others who want to do what you do? Any Advice?

Never give up! If you really really love to draw, keep going. Learn in anyway you can. Analyze your favorite artists’ styles, imitate from real life, practice with different mediums, etc. These are the things I’m still learning myself. Doesn’t matter if you “have talent” or not, practice makes perfect. Oh right, don’t forget to take breaks because self-care is really important, too!

3. What is your favorite type of work to do?

Whatever work that makes me happy! Right now the platonic love between an 5000 year-old sparkly elfman and his student really captivates me. I like portraying relationships with depth and complexity to them, yet somehow manage to be comforting and precious. I also love flowers and food. Most of my works are of characters interacting with each other, so I guess chemistry between characters is my favorite type of work to do.

4. Plans for 2022?

Hopefully get my headcanon story out before the next seasons of the show they’re from came out and repel me from the fandom forever… and draw flowers at least 20% more! I’m a very lazy person by nature so too many plans will not go according to keikaku(Light Yagami – Death note) 3. Whatever work that makes me happy! 5. Where can people support you?

Check out my work on twitter, tumblr and instagram! Share them to your friends, like and tell me what you think. These are the best ways to support me right now because I’m not confident enough in my art to ask for tips or opening commissions just yet, so liking and sharing my works means a lot to me!
