1. What started your artistic journey?
My story isn’t any different from many others, actually. I liked to draw as a kid, and with time, when my skills improved, I decided that I want to devote myself to art. I’m currently studying to be an animation director, though I didn’t always want to become one, I was more interested in the game industry, but in my country, there are not many places to get a good game designer education, and so I decided I want to stick with animation, for this was another thing that interested me. I can’t say I’m happy with it, but also can’t say I regret it. I like to animate, even though I don’t do it often. I’m mostly concerned with our education system.
2. What is your favorite piece you made?
I think it’s the one I drew almost half a year ago with my The Dragon Prince OC. Though I’ve been working on it for almost a month, I’m very proud of it. I was able to find good references for the clothes, I liked the pose, the details. At the same time, I found out how to use color correction in Photoshop to make colors much more saturated. And most important is that I really enjoyed drawing this piece.
3. What advice would you tell other artists who are new?
The one I’ve been hearing many times: try to draw, practice as much as you can to improve your skills. Even a sketch every day.
5. Plans for 2021!
I’ve been thinking about trying to animate something bigger than those sketches and animatics I’ve been doing all this time. Maybe do something like “a cartoon in a nutshell” with The Dragon Prince, or a music clip maybe. I want to try and do something big.
