The 11.13 patch for LoL Sees a Huge Tahm Kench Rework, Along With New Items and a Brand New Prestige!

Aphelios

Passive – The Hitman and the Seer

  • Bonus Damage: 4/8/12/16/20/24 (Q rank 1-5) ⇒ 5/10/15/20/25/30 (Q rank 1-5)
  • Lethality 3.5/7/10.5/14/17.5/21 (E rank 1-5) ⇒ 4.5/9/13.5/18/22.5/27 (E rank 1-5)

I see this as a good change simply because Aphelios is someone who benefits late game from his stats. A bonus flat 6 ad and 6 lethality is a huge buff for him, as 27 lethality is something that is achieved with multiple items, so for this buff to come into play could be really huge for him, and I expect to see him played more. Especially against a team with two tanks, this flat bonus lethality makes him one of the best tank slayers in the game for bot lane.

Kayn

W – Blade’s Reach

  • New – VFX: Blade’s Reach VFX is now revealed when cast within terrain towards enemy champions.

This is something that is really only going to affect high elo, most low elo Kayn players didn’t even know how to take advantage of this, this is a nerf that will be felt by some but probably not by too many.

Lee Sin

E – Tempest

  • Base damage: 100/140/180/220/260 ⇒ 100/130/160/190/220

Korean player nerf alert. No but seriously, when have you seen a good Lee in NA? This is something that actually seems to be a decent nerf for his late game, but because this ability has okay scaling I don’t see it being hurt too much? 40 damage is enough to change a fight very quickly, and is something that is as much as an item in some cases, but I don’t think it will be too severe. I wouldn’t expect too much from this, as it really seems to be that Lee is a very niche character, there’s either good or bad Lee players, no in between. It should be noted that his E was also nerfed in 11.11.

Olaf

Base Stats

  • Health Growth: 93 ⇒ 100
  • Mana: 7.47 ⇒ 7.5
  • Mana Growth: 0.58 ⇒ 0.6

Not a buff that I mind too much, obviously Olaf was nerfed into the ground, but with this buff I am seeing him played a little bit more, he’s a strong champ, so giving these buffs to give him a tiny tiny bit more scaling doesn’t hurt, I don’t think these will affect anything too much, but will give Olaf players a little bit more confidence.

Riven

E – Valor

  • Base Shield Strength: 95/125/155/185/215 ⇒ 85/115/145/175/205

10 Shield really won’t hurt anyone, early game maybe, but in the late game it’s really not gonna do anything, not much to say here. I have seen Riven being played a bit more, but she seems to only be good if the player knows what they are doing.

 Rumble

W – Scrap Shield

  • Cooldown: 6 seconds ⇒ 7/6.75/6.5/6.25/6 seconds
  • Bonus Movement Speed: 15/20/25/30/35% ⇒ 10/15/20/25/30%

I think this is a pretty solid nerf, Rumble was at a point in jungle where it was ridiculous, after doing so much damage he could just throw the shield on and peace out, and it was super annoying how he can just run you down. I think lowering the scaling here is a good move, hopefully it will actually affect his clearing speed as well as his ganks.

Viego

Q – Blade of the Ruined King

  • Healing from minions: 100% ⇒ 50%

E – Harrowed Path

  • Base Bonus Movement Speed: 20/22.5/25/27.5/30% ⇒ 25/27.5/30/32.5/35%
  • Missile Speed: 1000 ⇒ 1200
  • Missile Zone Length: 700 ⇒ 775

Both a buff and a nerf here. What I didn’t like about Viego mid was not only his sheer speed to go gank other lanes with his E, (which he can do even better now) but it was how he would heal so much off of minions at level 1. This 50% reduction is massive, it’s going to take him out of mid for the most part and seemingly put him back in the jungle.

Xayah

Q – Double Daggers

  • Base Damage per feather-blade: 45/65/85/105/125 ⇒ 50/75/100/125/150
  • Base Maximum Total Damage: 90/130/170/210/250 ⇒ 100/150/200/250/300

Xayah was feeling a little bit weak before this, but since this buff came I have been playing her more and actually enjoying it quite a bit, this give her a little bit more poke, and a hefty 50 max damage buff in the end game to all enemies hit, I think this makes her a bit stronger and hopefully sees her get some more game time.

Anathema’s Chains

Base Stats

  • Total cost: 2500 gold
  • Build Path: Giant’s Belt + Kindlegem + 800 gold
  • Health: 650
  • Ability Haste: 20

Effects

  • Vow (active): Choose a Nemesis to start building a Vendetta over 60 seconds. Has global range, must be used out of combat, and can be used while dead (90 second cooldown).
  • Vendetta: Take 1% reduced damage from your Nemesis per Vendetta stack. This damage reduction starts at 0% and stacks up to 30% over 60 seconds.
  • Vengeance: At max stacks, your Nemesis has 20% reduced tenacity while near you.

This is a good item to stop a carry, I could see a tank picking this up and putting it on a fed enemy adc, and stopping them dead in their tracks. This item will have some incredible usage, and I think it’s gonna be the victim of a few nerfs. Don’t be surprised to see this item get put down the pecking order.

Hullbreaker

Base stats

  • Build Path: Pickaxe + Phage + 825 gold
  • Attach Damage: 50
  • Health: 300
  • Health Regen: 150%

Effects

  • Passive: While no allied champions are nearby, gain 20-45 armor and magic resist (level 9-18) and deal 20% increased damage to towers. Large minions nearby also gain 60-135 armor and magic resist and deal 200% increased damage to towers.

Great split pushing item for someone like nasus. I could possibly even see some adc’s using this, but it would be niche. I think this item adds some good power to someone who doesn’t have much left in the game. If a top laner falls behind they can pick this up and immediately have some use to their team. I have won countless games because of split pushing during team fights, this is something that will make that even more common.

I will list all item changes, but I am only going to be talking about the ones I find to be game changing

Black Cleaver

  • Health: 400 ⇒ 450
  • Rage Bonus Movement Speed per stack of Carve: 5, up to 30 ⇒ 3, up to 18

Cosmic Drive

  • Movement speed: 10-30 (level 1-18) ⇒ 20
  • Ability power: 75 ⇒ 80

Death’s Dance

  • Defy Heal 10% of your maximum health ⇒ 15% of your maximum health
  • Removed – Death’s Walk: Champion takedowns no longer grant 30% bonus movement speed for 2 seconds

Dead Man’s Plate

  • Shipwrecker Buildup Duration: 8 seconds ⇒ 4 seconds
  • Shipwrecked Max Bonus Movement Speed: 60 ⇒ 40
  • Shipwrecked on-hit bonus damage: 1 magic damage per stack, up to 100 ⇒ 1 physical damage per stack (+100% base AD), up to 40

This item has changed quite a bit because of this change. It now is physical damage per stack, which makes it even more useful to most tank top lakers than it did before. I think the nerf to the movement speed is good, because to be honest, you could use galeforce ghost and flash and probably still get run down by this brain dead item.

Divine Sunderer

  • Spellblade Empowered on-hit damage: 12% of target’s maximum health ⇒ 12% melee || 9% ranged of target’s maximum health

Literally just a nerf to Ezreal.

Everfrost

  • Combine Cost 450 gold ⇒ 250 gold

Galeforce

  • Mythic Passive Bonus Movement Speed: 3% ⇒ 2%
  • Typhoon (Ornn’s Upgrade) Mythic Bon Passive Bonus Movement Speed: 3% ⇒ 2%

Liandry’s Anguish

  • Combine cost: 1200 gold ⇒ 1000 gold

Lich Bane

  • Move speed: 10% ⇒ 8%
  • Ability power: 70 ⇒ 75

Luden’s Tempest

  • Combine Cost: 1250 gold ⇒ 1050 gold

This is huge for mage mid laners, along with the other mana mythics reduced costs. Mages will not only have their items quicker, but you will see some people possibly using all new items simply because of how much cheaper they are now.

Moonstone Renewer

  • Starlit Grace heal and shield power: 6% per stack (max 30%) ⇒ 7% per stack (max 35%)

This item is cringe and I hope they don’t make it powerful again, all you have to do is stand there and you just carry your team. I’m glad that it fell out of meta for the most part, and I prefer my supp to just build full ap instead of something like moonstone.

Prowler’s Claw

  • Cooldown: 60 seconds ⇒ 90 seconds
  • Lethality: 21 ⇒ 18
  • Sandswipe Targeting: Any enemy unit ⇒ Enemy champions
  • Sandshrike’s Claw (Ornn’s Upgrade) Lethality: 29 ⇒ 26

This item seriously got gutted. 30 seconds is an insane nerf off of the active, and I don’t see it doing a ton now over something like Duskblade. I have already seen the Kayn reddit, and a lot of people are switching over to Duskblade after these changes to Prowler’s. Overall I think this is a good nerf, because it felt for the most part like the other assassin items were getting ignored. I think the main issue was that many people were using prowlers on champs they shouldn’t have used it on, so I think this may have resulted from that.

Sanguine Blade

  • Deleted.

This is a shame really, but I understand. This item was just insane to counter split pushing, especially on an adc who could just rip 1v1’s. Actually now that I just wrote that I have no clue why they removed it. They removed an item to counter split pushing, while adding an item that makes split pushing stronger? Yeah I’m not too sure about this one.

Shurelya’s Battlesong

  • Inspire Bonus Movement Speed: 60%, decaying to 30% over 2 seconds ⇒ 30%
  • Shurelya’s Requiem (Ornn’s Upgrade) Inspire Bonus Movement Speed: 60%, decaying to 30% over 2 seconds ⇒ 30%

This is a pretty big nerf to an item that was decently strong. Taking this item meant that you could always engage whenever, I especially like this item on a team that has someone like Illaoi, where she can run into all of them head on and use r for max efficiency. I can understand this nerf, and it really changes the item completely.

Stridebreaker

  • Health: 200 ⇒ 400
  • Attack Damage: 45 ⇒ 40
  • Removed – Dash: Halting Slash no longer lets the user dash 300 units
  • New – Slasher and Prancer: Halting Slash can now be cast while moving
  • Halting Slash Damage: 75% AD ⇒ 100% AD
  • Slow: 40%, decaying over 2 seconds ⇒ 90%, decaying to 40% over 3 seconds
  • Cooldown: 20 seconds ⇒ 15 seconds
  • Heroic Gait Bonus Movement Speed: 30 ⇒ 20
  • Mythic Passive Bonus Movement Speed: 3% ⇒ 2%
  • Dreamshatter (Ornn’s Upgrade) Health: 300 ⇒ 500
  • Dreamshatter (Ornn’s Upgrade) Attack Damage: 55 ⇒ 50

This is one of the headlining changes of the patch, and I think it’s a really interesting one. It takes away the engagement of some champs who needed the dash, but it ensures that almost nobody is going to be able to run away after getting hit by the active. An extra 200 bonus health is also massive, and the active really goes a lot of damage. I like this change a lot, and I personally see the item as being stronger than it was before.

Trinity Force

  • Attack Damage: 30 ⇒ 35
  • Threefold Strike Bonus Movement Speed: 25 ⇒ 20
  • Infinity Force (Ornn’s Upgrade) Attack Damage: 40 ⇒ 45

Nimbus Cloak

  • Bonus Movement speed: 5%/20%/35% for 2 seconds ⇒ 5%/20%/25% for 2 seconds

Ghost Poro

  • Granted Sight Duration: 60 seconds ⇒ 90 seconds
  • Enemy Reveal Duration: 4 seconds ⇒ 6 seconds

This is actually a really big buff, 30 seconds more of vision is very big, and it makes ghost a lot stronger.

Turret Update

  • Inner turrets in side lanes (top and bottom) now grant an additional 250 local gold
  • All turret inventories now show how much local gold they give once destroyed

I have personally experienced this, and I can personally say that I prefer split pushing to being in team fights. If my team is going even and they don’t need my help too much, Ill go split push and get a turret or two, and it turns into around1-2k gold very easy, it also helps get your cs up. As someone who has around 10k structure damage per game because i split push permanently, I really like this change.

Summoner Spells

Smite

Challenging Smite

  • Damage to minions: 900 true damage ⇒ 500 (+10% of target’s max health) true damage

Chilling Smite

  • Damage to minions: 900 true damage ⇒ 500 (+10% of target’s max health) true damage

That’s all for this week! The brand new astronaut skins have also come out for Rammus, Veigar, Corki and Maokai along with Zed’s new prestige skin. In 11.14 you can expect some buffs to Lillia presumably as she falls down the meta, as well as a new legendary Vayne skin! And a whole new event that will see the return of the ruined theme, as well as a new game mode.
