What can you tell us about Redboy and the Adventure Crew?

Redboy and Adventure Crew is a new interactive kid’s toy by Playmix Interactive. It’s an RPG game in toy form, no smartphone or app needed.Pick a character,  put it on the Smart Base, and play on the included Battlerealm play mat.The toys have sound effects, voice lines, and interact with each other by simply bashing them together.Players are encouraged to flex their creativity and bring along their own toys, to fight alongside, or against the Adventure Crew.

What can RPG fans expect to see? What makes your project stand out?

I think RPG fans will be excited by our eclectic cast of characters, and our tech-integrated game pieces.
As previously mentioned, there’s no smartphone or app needed. This makes the game super accessible, and making the figures interact with the Battlerealm mat, and your other toys is super fun.

Our characters, too. We cherry-picked the best voice actors for our project, and they all breathe so much life into our heroes. We think players will love the energy and talent they bring to the roles.

Goals for your kickstarter?

We’re trying to raise $70,000 (CAD) and we really want to hit the ground running. The donations will help us with production, marketing, and hiring some really talented artists.

We do have stretch goals too of course. Those will allow us to keep supporting the game, with character expansion packs, new locations, and (my personal favorite), large scale vehicles and playsets.

Tell us about how your game is educational for kids?

Redboy and the Adventure Crew hopes to really open up the world of creative storytelling for kids. The story told in Battlerealm is just the beginning; players are encouraged to introduce their own heroes, and villains to Battlerealm by bringing in their own toys. In our photos, you can see Green Ranger, Godzilla, and Ultraman are here to join the battle.

Where can people support your work?

The biggest favour we can ask people is to follow us on Kickstarter and our social medias!
We’re launching in mid-April, so we’re trying to spread the word as best we can! Every follow means the world to us.

Tell us anything else you want to mention!

The development of this toy project has been a wild one for sure. What started out as a Sesame Street fan project eventually allowed me to bring back one of my childhood creations, Redboy!

I’ve been working on RATAC for about 2 years now; It was my grad project, at Emily Carr U in Vancouver. I’m ferociously passionate about this project and I hope I can get people excited along with me.
