Modules and Adventures have always had a place in D&D, from when it was first created, to nowadays, modules are built to give players adventures all over the realms, and the Dungeon Master, a world and story ready for them to tell. This is the second part in the series known as Module Review! The second module being covered is known as The Forge of Fury.
Let’s start with some basic backstory for the creation of the module.This module also predates the current edition of D&D 5e, however, it was one of the most popular modules of 3rd edition, so they made some modifications and released it as part of a bigger adventure book called Tales of the Yawning Portal. In fact, it was a predecessor to last week’s Module Review, The Sunless Citadel, designed for adventurers to continue their journey, upon beating the citadel.
The Forge of Fury is located within the Stronghold of Khundrukar, deep inside a vast cave system. After this point there will be spoilers for the module, continue reading at your own discretion. The Stronghold housed by a powerful dwarven blacksmith known as Durgeddin the Black, who forged the stronghold after his clan was driven out by Orcs and Trolls. Eventually the stronghold was taken over by Orcs, and it fell into ruins. Rumors have been told of powerful weapons forged by the previous owners, and because of that, one might assume that aspiring adventurers have a reason to invade said stronghold.
This module is for characters level 3-5, so any lower level characters you want to play, would work well here! One thing can be said for certain, the Forge of Fury is definitely going to be a module to remember.
