Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Comic Book Review

Boom Studios! Brings together two iconic teams of superheroes in the form of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The teenagers with attitude from Angel Grove fight alongside everyone’s favorite masked ninjas from New York City. Ryan Parrott writes a story that interweaves both the lore and history of the Turtles and Rangers together as the stakes grow higher and the world hangs in the balance.

The Power Rangers journey to New York city as the evil Foot Clan emerges from the shadows. In the heat of battle they encounter the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as Shredder unveils his dark plans. On the Foot Clan’s rise of power Rita Repulsa joins the scene to cause even more chaos for the Turtles and the Power Rangers with a deadly alliance.

Ryan Parrot continues to develop the mystery and suspense as the reader discovers shocking outcomes from this martial arts epic. Every character from both franchises makes an appearance as the situation grows from bad to worse. The detail to certain abilities, powers, and traits are displayed in proper representation across each panel of the comic book.

The artwork is powerful as it displays tremendous talent and skill from the creative team. Illustrated by Simone de Meo with a color pallet developed by Walter Baiamonte. Simone’s use of detail is sharp thin lines to create shape, profile, and movement.  A style that brings forth a blend of cartoonish with a brush of realism for character facial features.

Walter completes the comic with strong colors befitting of every situation whether the story takes place underground or on the city streets. A transition of warm to cool colors is constant with solid pigments and mixtures of colors. When the Power Rangers fight or transform color bursts from the page being very vivid with the power coin energies.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is an other world story that delivers action and fandom. The ongoing short series of five comic books is ideal for fans of both franchises. Witness the Power Rangers leap into battle and the Turtles kick some Shell!
