Kamen Rider Series Getting Select Official English Release

Greetings, geeks of all ages! And rejoice, for the dawn of a new age! Apologies, I couldn’t resist channeling my inner Woz. However, this is exciting news for Kamen Rider fans outside of Japan. 2021 marks the 50th anniversary of the Kamen Rider franchise. As such, Toei has announced that they will be posting episodes of different series for free with official English subtitles. You can read the official press release here on Toei’s official website.

In summary, starting on January 16, 2021, they will be releasing select episodes from each season of Kamen Rider. These will be posted on their official YouTube international channel Toei Tokusatsu World Official, with additional releases happening every Saturday/Sunday. Once again, they will have official English subtitles.

Now, while this is not an official release for the full series of each, this is an excellent starting point. Kamen Rider has been garnering a good amount of attention lately. I’m hopeful that, should this get enough attention, that Toei will start to license more official releases of all of the Kamen Rider seasons. So far, we only have 3 officially licensed releases for seasons: the original Kamen Rider, Kamen Rider Kuuga, and Kamen Rider Amazons, released overseas as Amazon Riders.
